Musee d'Orsay

You'll notice the well-behaved students on a field trip getting instructions on how to remain well-behaved while in the d'Orsay.

Chateau de Versailles poster

Cieldequimper at Versailles Daily Photo has posted several beautiful photos of fountains, statuary and fireworks in recent days. It is my understanding that this event is held each summer. This photo was taken, obviously, in 2007, and I believe it is advertising the same event.

If not, I'll ask Cieldequimper to correct me.

Notre Dame gargoyle

Lois Anne took this shot from the tower at Notre Dame. She must have had a "vintage" camera!

Moon over the Tower

This is an altered photo. Well, the moon was not there originally. I thought it added a nice touch, though.

The Disney bus

This is for people visiting Paris who feel the need to go to Disneyland. Hop on board the Disney express! It's only a 35 minute ride!

From the top!

Lois Anne went all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower, something like 900 godawful feet into the sky! Nevertheless, just south of the nearest clouds, she took a number of beautiful photos. This is one of them.

Tomb of Lyautey

Lyautey's tomb is in the l'Eglise du Dome. It is my understanding that he was a French military hero of some note. Years ago, when in the Navy, I spent a few days at the Port Lyautey Naval Base in Morocco. I'd like to think that base was named for this French military hero, but I've been unable to verify that.

Another view of the emperor's final resting place in the l'Eglise du Dome.
