Jacob, do you have any information about that statue? Is that a Napolèon-era soldier or WWI? («Louis» couldn't tell when he enlarged the image...)

@ Louis - No, I don't, sorry. This was kind of a throwaway shot...but it looks rather like WWI to me...

I like the composition of your "throw-away shot." It's a view we don't usually see of this wonderful building.
By the way, we have quite a lot of red lava in the West. It may be black or gray, but it can just as easily be red. I have some brighter pix of the top of lava butte, and there is no question that it's RED. I'll post more one of these days.
Invalides has been on my TO DO list for a long time. It's still on there. I love love this shot.
