It is very difficult to walk down any Parisian street without seeing a building being cleaned/repaired. I remember la Tour St.-Jacques being under wraps for several years, not to mention Notre Dame.
@ Starman - You're very right, Bob...even parts of Versailles were under construction when we were there...but that's good...I can imagine it must be a never-ending job!

@ VP - I really don't know about the French, but I do know what you mean...when we lived in Minnesota, they worked on the roads for years and years and it seemed they never got finished.
In Houston, the road to Galveston was under construction for at least 20 years and I'm not sure if it's done yet!
We went to Paris during this weekend.It was a kind "last minute"decision Friday night, just because the weather, it was cold there but with Sun! Yes...as my son next week is going back to Brazil, and he had never visited Paris, we took this opportunity to give him a little "taste" about Paris.He loved the city for sure! And...I was there, in front of this place, imagining you and Lois Anne there and for sure I tried to take some pictures but noone so beautiful or perfect like yours! :) Hugs Léia

@ Leia - That church is magnificent, although it is no longer used as a church - it is a museum. Certainly is worth checking out!

@ Starman - Thanks! It was a fascinating site! I'd never heard of this guy (which is not surprising) so I read his story with great interest.
Methinks that some of the geniuses were a bit crazy, though. Can you imagine trying to land in the Seine between two bridges?
