De Venus

I know, everybody's seen this photo a hundred times, but do you know how hard it is to get a good picture of de Milo? This one was sheer luck, as usually there are people knee-deep to Versailles and back standing in front, snapping photos, waving their arms (probably 'cause Venus doesn't have any), lifting kids on their shoulders, jumping up and down...

Hi Jacob, I've always been in the off season, but I still don't have a good photo of her due to the many people getting their picture taken with the armless Lady of Love. This is very good!

Your description of the place is perfect, I don't know if I have any good picture of it...

I wasn't all that impressed with Venus. I didn't bother with a picture even though we were the only two there at the time. Now that I think about it, there were several "great" works that did nothing for me. Hmmmm.

@ Starman - I think the French would call you "blase."

How did you like the Moulin Rouge?

I've passed the Moulin Rouge a few times, but never went in. I admit (blush) that I did take a photo of it my first time in Paris.

@ Starman - We went to the early show ... 9 PM, I think. It was absolutely superb. Beautiful girls, of course, but so very well done - great choreograph...just loads of fun! Except it was very crowded.

Now those lyrics are trailing through my brain..".Venus de Milo, was noted for her charms, but strictly between us, you're cuter than Venus, and what's more you've got arm..." (or something like that!)
