La Sainte Chapelle

Sainte-Chappele, on the Ile de la Cite in the heart of Paris, opened its doors on April 26, 1248. It was built by Louis IX to serve as his personal royal chapel. It is, in the words, of another, "a masterpiece of Flamboyant Gothic architecture..." The stained-glass windows are considered to be the finest in all of Europe.

The image took my breath away. I’d like to see and feel the light that filters through such beautiful stained glass windows in person.
