Is it just me, or were most sculptures obsessed with bathing women?

Beware Jacob, you know who was watching Suzanne after the bath...

RATS! I knew I misspelled sculptors.

I really love this sculpture in the foreground ...nice contrast with the painting further!

The statue represents a biblical story. Suzanne, a very beautiful woman, who bathes on one heat day and is watched by two old men who unsuccessfully tried to have a sexual intercourse with her and evantually unjustly accused her of adultery.
The story is considered apocryphal by Protestants.

What a great museum. I'm glad you took good photos. Mine (if they are any good) are mostly on slides, which I haven't begun to scan yet.

I've not heard of Paul Cabet before - but it's a lovely sculpture - I had my head in "impressionist art" at the Musee d'Orsay- and obviously missed some really beautiful sculptures. Must go back real soon!!!

After I posted the good wishes, I realized I was a few days early.
